Kate's Playground видео

The dry

after I after my Christmas vacation five days was back in Minsk, it was already back further:

After Надешда (GV "hope") along with seven residents of the home Novinki adults and seven other volunteers at the winter camp of Kanikuli . Надешда is actually a convalescent home for children from the heavily contaminated by radioactivity Areas is good and the middle of nowhere 80 kilometers from Minsk. The planning of the winter camp was taken over Dasha, we were only involved when shopping for the camp.
Before we start, however, could we had to pick up participants from the home in Novinki, they were almost all ready-coated with their little bags in the yard, waiting for us, others passing by asked "ride into the camp?" and was told always a joyous "Jaaaa. All participants were provided a ride and we even got to a little "extra" a babushka.
Once in Nadezhda we moved into our first once a small house, always volunteers and residents from Novinki. In our house lived as a volunteer Hannah, Vika and I and then mixing and Karl.
The next week we spent with talking, drinking tea, painting, walking, eating (three times daily Belarusian means (warm rich) food ...), moreover, we were once in a ceramics workshop and once we have developed a large male painted. Twice a week, it was also once a massage and aromatherapy. Very beautiful was our visit to the disco for the children in Nadezhda, Hannah, Elias, Tim and I then attended an evening with Oleg and Karl.
Karl, although deaf, but seems to still hear some sounds or rest in any case the Perceived bass, so he then was totally fascinated midst of these children (which also all have the same size as it were, since it is very small) and just danced with times and had total fun. Or Oleg, who has his dancing skills at the same time Hannah and I tried.
Karl saw in our little house that it was never too quiet, for he liked to tell us the day's experiences with many gestures and sounds, we could suggest a few days quite well. It was great to be particularly accessible derogative grinning head shaking when we showed him that he should go to bed.
Mischa turned out after a short time as an artist, most of the time of the day painting, smoking and drinking tea (the tea had to always be very very very black, otherwise it was not a tea). His favorite subject was the Virgin Mary, he was painting during the day in all sorts of colors, I also liked very well, this picture that he has given me and that now hangs in my room on the wall:

All in all, the camp was a good time, which provided for the residents of the homes a wonderful change from the dreary home life and created for us volunteers a lot of fond memories, like were we noticed yesterday, when to Elias, Tim, Hannah and I were talking at a party with Karl's gestures, which the others could not understand, of course.
I'm looking forward very much to the second adult summer camp, and especially with the children from Novinki that even be in the summer.
Nevertheless, I have a lot of the camp for thought, I often had the thought in mind that the children will later end up on my station even in the adult home. In addition, Dasha study several times to me about my plan special education and I talked it had to promise very well to think again.

The last week I was finally back in all my projects and am also glad to now have life again and I dedicate all my projects to full again. My work is still fun and I can finally just as good Russian, that I do not always rumstottere and keep me can already times, I find it much easier. This week I was accompanied by another German volunteer Novinki, as they currently analyzing a new project to show her all the stations and then to see how bad it is but that is not a volunteer there, I was encouraged that I will be happy by moving my projects over time so that I can do it even one more day to go to Novinki. To what extent I time, however, creates, I see. Thursday I had even then also met the new director in Novinki, who welcomed us very friendly and has also enjoyed it, maybe get a new volunteer, who knows, maybe he also changes other things in Novinki.
I've actually done so, introduce gradually all the projects and I've still not managed to introduce Novinki also, I want that now make up for that yet. The text I wrote for my project report.

The children's home in Novinki:
The project found that I have prepared in advance, the biggest headache is the now that makes me most: The "home for children with special features in the psychophysical development in Novinki. Novinki is now turned my detes village on the outskirts of Minsk. In the home are approximately 200 children, with children in the fall usually means more children and young adults. The residents all have different disabilities, the severely mentally and physically handicapped of mild impairments to developmental delays that have been reinforced by the home life. The home consists of five stations: girls, boys, clothes Santander children, lying and the station for people with severe and multiple disabilities. The division is largely incomprehensible to the small children's ward are the children no longer really young children, the youngest are four or five and the oldest 20 years old. The classification is based on well together at all the degrees of disability, so that children who are only physically disabled, with severely mentally handicapped children. Individual support is thus no longer possible.
I work on small children's ward. There are approximately 40 children. There are three bedrooms in the front two children are housed, all of which are still relatively fit, only a few of them are the most time in bed, while the children in the back room of the station permanently in bed. On the small children's ward there are two classrooms and a "relaxation room". The children all have different disabilities, there are children with Down syndrome, autism, mentally handicapped children, but children also have the only light physical disabilities.
Most of the time I spend with the children from the front part on the rooms or in the classroom, where I try to occupy the children, which usually go down in the rather chaotic classroom. Now I know most children already know what I can do well with them or what they found particularly fun. I was also fortunate that the small children's ward is a nice teacher works that gave me first explain what I do with individual children, and that recently the German Organization Gumpo eV was with two physiotherapists in Novinki who gave me then shown again, what can I do with the children, the most time in bed.
When I come in the morning, I will usually greeted by the children, which are washed ready and dressed and waiting in the corridor to the teachers. in these children a child is talking, that can, I usually answer the first question, whether I come back the next day. During the day I will answer that question yet often. If then there are the teachers, I make sure that the children had to stay in the rooms and decide then if I have first to these children or go but am just going to class. Instruction is often no real lessons, because teachers are often concerned only with individual children, the others are simply ignored, but at least there is in the classroom as opposed to the other room and the hallway toys and the classroom provides a little variety to stupid Everyday life in the room where the only distraction is the television. How is the course looks like depends always on the working teacher, there are very dedicated, but also those left by the children themselves. Some useful things to be practiced in everyday life, such as grasping or. Otherwise, it can also happen that the TV is turned on and the are children from "parked".
In the course of the morning I try to deal with all the children to at least briefly. With the few who can talk I talk, I play with Andre, with many I have things now, which I know they like them. Xenia, for example, likes it when you talk to her, many times I tell her simply things in German, as they are always very pleased when she kindly responds. Pasha, I release usually choked once from its straitjacket of a nasty tights he wears because he would otherwise put his hands in the neck to him, I then look for a toy to which he responded, or do finger games with him, so that his hands are distracted and he did not put in the mouth. Speaking with Jascha I practice, it is one of the few children who have learned to speak and, in contrast to the other kind, he speaks clearly and total comments, the whole time all he sees. So the time is up to the "Poldnik", a kind of snack made of pureed apples, fast clock by 11 and then is usually around then also sometimes attend if the weather is nice we walk or sometimes I sit with the children in the room and occupy me with them. Counter shortly after 12 are then built up in the hallway there are two small tables and lunch. Vadim's where I often help with eating, or feed one of the children, who can not even eat. After lunch, the children moved out and put to bed and I say goodbye, not without a few more times to answer the question, when do I get back, and why do I now have to go. Usually I am then, even though it only four hours were made and I am glad to get back into the fresh air, away from the stench, but often sad because I can go easy, but the children must remain in the home. Even if has done in recent years, much in Novinki and the home is mainly outside now renovated and has many playgrounds, it is a sad place. The children are totally excluded from society, the handling is rough in the home, loving touch or is it too little speech. The sisters are not educated, they work in 24 hour shifts work, permanent bad mood or stressed out and because they are usually responsible for three of 20 children is a do not address the individual needs of children possible. By living in the home worsen the disabilities of the children and many of them develop ticks to calm herself, she swings back and hurt themselves or are completely apathetic and not react or start to cry when you approach them. The visible are the moments that make me Novinki always very sad, I draw my motivation then more of the children. To see how they greet each other when dealing with employs them, or sometimes just sitting there with them on her lap and talks to them. All in all, but I'm happy to Novinki because I work with children is fun and scary because the kids show me again and again directly to why I'm there and my work has a meaning.

Sports Quotes With Crush

The period around Christmas and New Year's Eve ...

Hi everybody,
it is again at the time that I'm writing and a little bit about my life here reports. It is so much in recent times happened that I do not at all, where to start ... :-)

In December I was still working normally. All, however, were already in a Christmas mood and have really been looking forward to the feast. So I've seen at least at work.

On 6 December then was Nicholas. But probably because we are here in Brazil and here everything is a bit slower, Santa Claus came only on 10 December for the children in the Sala. (I knew nothing of them that day). And so it was that we, on 10 December, not knowing were sitting in a circle and sang Christmas carols and then suddenly very loud knocking at the door. All children were very frightened and were immediately excited. Tia went to the door, opened it, and outside in front of a great-old Nicholas stood with glittering blue cloak and long white beard. Because he was so ur-old, he could of course also move very slowly. He gave Tia a big bag, where it was for each child and for each supervisor a small gift in it. had disappeared (for me too, see photo.) By the time Nicholas again, and the children were allowed back outside, you could everywhere he ran in to see little sparkling stars, which picks up the children full of enthusiasm, a reminder of the Nicholas to have. I found
this meeting also very nice since the kids were so excited and has given them so much. One boy even came to me and showed me how his hand was trembling on. :-)

After 2 weeks, not quite as hard work as it went up to the summer holidays, was already the 23rd December and so our last Integração and already mentioned in my blog soccer game between Monte Azul Horizonte Azul. This game is not as gratifying run, as we lost 9:2 with horizons, but at least I have one of the two gates and the other made himself ready. ;-) So at least it was for me personally not so bad.

Dannach was Christmas. I am on 24 December in the league Solidária (another project here in Sao Paulo) down, there to celebrate with some other friends, parents and volunteers. When I arrived, there was already a full house: three volunteers from the league Solidária, two parents of a friend, a weiterne friend who is currently living in Peru for a year and over Christmas and New Year's Eve in Brazil, two volunteers from Florianopolis (south of Brazil) and three other volunteers, I knew by then at all. Total of 12 people and little space. ;-)

On Christmas Eve we all eat together and even sang a Christmas song before. Real Christmas spirit was indeed not occur because it is outside were still 25 degrees, but it was still a very nice Christmas. After the meal we have not played a game Imp. Everyone should bring a gift, then was rolled, played a variety of actions and at the end of each stand had a different gift to himself. I came out with a pack of cheese crackers and a Männerdeo from the Gnome round and true VERY happy. ;-) (At this point a little greeting from Heiko.)

After Christmas Eve I am until 27 December remained in the league, and I also enjoyed Solidária with the others, the holidays. Then we have (Anna-Lena (Peru), Anne-Sophie (Solidária League) and I) are on 27 December evening set on the bus and are drove 18 hours to Foz do Iguaçu. Once there we went to the hostel there and met another volunteer (Vera) from the league Solidária, who had previously spent Christmas in Argentina. After a brief dip in the pool we went along with Anne-Sophie's parents, who flew to Iguazu eat gone. The next day we then looked at the world famous waterfalls there. First, in the morning, then on the Brazilian and Argentinean side back in the afternoon on. You can walk properly in some places close to the waterfalls at it and it is impressive, what is going on there for a spectacle of nature. This tour has really paid off for me and I am glad that I did in my time here in Brazil there stop by again. There are not the highest, but it's widest waterfalls in the world. I hang a few pictures to turn this blog entry. :-) The second night in Iguazu, we no longer spent in the hostel, but a couch surfer lived, who had a very bonziges house. He was super nice and made us the next day even accompanied to the bus.

Then we took the bus it and follow it down to the same bus again and drove for a change in the bus. A total of exactly 24 hours long. And since the bus anyway I can not sleep very well, I had the time yet again for more. Well ... On 31 December at 12 noon clock we (Anna-Lena, Anne-Sophie, Vera and I) finally arrived: In Rio de Janeiro. Once there, we have
us again ensconced in the couch surfers, who has already taken us so well last time. If you no longer know as precisely as it looked there, can you please add it to my blog entry of 16 Read in October 2010. Of course, we have once lived in his house on the island. In the evening we went to Copacabana to celebrate New Year's Eve. On the beach, three stages were set up, which occurred on some bands. The beach I filled more and it was at the end probably about 2.5 million people spent the New Year. The majority of them was completely white dressed as symbolizing peace. At 12 clock there was a very beautiful and impressive fireworks over the water. We stayed until about 6 or 7 clock in the morning and left us exhausted into bed (or on the couch) are thrown.

On 1 January of the new year, was then not much motivation there to make too much. But on 2 again. Morning we went together with Anne-Sophie's parents went to a market where you could buy a lot of great things. For example, chains, T-shirts, paintings, etc. After that we are again only four went to the Christ statue on the mountain. That was not very encouraging, as it crowded with tourists , but the view from up there is really terrific. Unfortunately the weather was not ideal and it has been raining a bit at first.

On 3 January, we are then moved back to Sao Paulo and will have again spent a few days.
I now have until 24 January holiday and then my right dannach intermediate seminar in Botucatu. Until then, I'm going well now for several days with Heiko to the beach and then I will of 13 to 22 January Anna-Lena visit in Peru that are already on 6 is flown back. Furthermore, it will probably give again a new blog entry. :-)

Greetings to all who stayed at home ...
your Christian

home ground, home ...

I just sit in Vilnius at the airport in the departure lounge and I must wait, go to my flight, I now have time to write back a bit for my blog. Tomorrow is Christmas, I'm on the way home. The last few days have been pretty nerve-wracking. Once because of all the tense situation because of the elections, but for me especially, because my visa and my residence permit was ready.
The reports and pictures of the demonstrations and the government's action against the protesters should probably know the most. Did the press conference by President Lukashenko and the penalties for those arrested was an issue in the German media, but now appears to Europe and the rest of the world Belarus forgotten how it looks so in Belarus itself?
seems Outwardly, everything should go on as if Sunday had not been elected, and as it had the demonstrations not given. But if you talk to the people, many are disappointed because their hopes for change have not been met. Also, many people are appalled by the brutality of the government. Many people are very sad and also seem to have lost their hope.
However, these are rather few, many have hoped at all that anything will change and a lot of people know only what spreads the State Fernsehn on the demonstrations and the opposition: This is a bunch of drunken hooligans Sunday wanted to take a chance to cause chaos. These were then mostly photos of a car shown by the alleged explosives, iron bars, Gasoline and the like was and it had stopped on the way to Independence Square. We report on the militia, which had intervened heroic and would even be so handled still mild with the demonstrators. Often an interview with the chairman of the OSCE was shown Sunday night meant more rashly, there were no signs of voter fraud, the official opinion of the OSCE was then not even mentioned anymore. Also, any criticism from Europe by the Fernsehn and simply ignored by Lukashenko, seen only the good wishes of other countries such as China, which stressed that the elections judged free and democratic have to be shown. So you could now many examples of the manipulation of people by showing the television. However, I also noticed that Europe have shown mainly the images point to which the escalation of the demonstrators ions and almost nothing in advance of the peaceful demonstrations.

For me the most frightening was the violence with which the militia is proceeded. I also had the feeling that not Minsk on Sunday evening, the city where I live for three months.
What has frightened me in the last few days at most, was to determine whether the state decision about us volunteers white. The visit of the militia on Saturday was an indication of the fact that the questions were not really questions, but officials already knew the answers. I was upset but then pick up, especially when I came yesterday to the office for my visa and I had not said a word and the officer just said to me: "Ah, Joan, Ulitsa Knorina, House 10a, Flat 15th You come pick up her visa. "I thought it for a couple hours agonizing how he knew me so exactly, when he is in charge in our neighborhood for a few thousand people after all. When he then also asked for Saturday, when the militia was with us, now I have the suspicion that he was the official who Saturday when we did, but I was excited Saturday to remember his face to me and I know it's not so sure. In any case, it was strange ... My visa was not ready and then the way I needed to and then again in the afternoon was finally finished and I was able to leave this morning without problems.

Now I'm looking forward to first Christmas at home and out look on my family and friends again. Right now I find it difficult to imagine but, in a few hours (actually 1 ½, due to the time difference actually 2 ½) in Germany to be. Germany was in the last three months in my thoughts so far away that I imagine is difficult can, as it will be there. The thought to be two weeks away and not to work, I am also a little sad because I know that I will not see my babushkas and the children in Novinki two weeks.
first Now I hope that my flight is not delayed further, there are just 15 minutes, for another flight from Dublin, comes too late and the German Railway and all its problems has done with the snow ( By the way Belarus had made the trip from Minsk to Vilnius no problems although there is lots of snow and it's cold ...;)).

That's now so far from me first, because I have no Internet, I will, however, this entry has only been possible to publish evening at home.
